Dieter Eckert has been appointed as President and CEO of TÜV SÜD Japan and will start from March 1st, 2017. Dr. Andreas Stange, the former President and CEO, will take over the global responsibility for the Invitro Diagnostics Business line within our Medical and Health Services (MHS) and will also oversee several global business development activities in the MHS department. He will work out of the Kansai office of TÜV SÜD Japan.
Our new President Dieter Eckert is 58 years old and was born in Bavaria, Germany. After graduating from the Technical University of Munich, he worked for Dr. Ing. h.c. F. Porsche AG Deutschland in Stuttgart. He then entered TÜV SÜD in 1989 as a certified automotive engineer.
He has been responsible for multiple automobile-related duties, including the worldwide management of automotive homologation division for TÜV Automotive GmbH, and also he was deeply involved in the company's business with Japan.
From 2002 to 2006, he served as President and CEO of TÜV SÜD Japan and was previously working as global Business Line Manager for Active Medical Devices within MHS. In taking over the task of running the company as President and CEO of TÜV SÜD Japan again, he will focus on further expanding the service portfolio to provide first class and "added value" support for our customers in the Japanese market, while taking advantage of the wide range of expertise, experience and advanced technology which have been cultivated in the 150 year history of TÜV SÜD.
