Twilight Team Run in Cape Town
Twilight Team Run in Cape Town
Aside from all the festive season trimmings bedecking the Mother City’s streets, another Cape tradition filled the inner-city roadways with groups of fancy-dressed revellers. The much-anticipated charity-driven calendar highlight celebrated its 32nd birthday this year.
TÜV SÜD South Africa and AVTS Roadworthy Stations are proud supporters of this fun event which took place on Tuesday, 2 December.
In support of the Community Chest of the Western Cape (CC), the fun walk – and its 20,000 fun walkers – weaved its way from the Grand Parade through the slicing side streets of the CBD and back to the starting point (in roughly 90 minutes time). Prior to the festive saunter, a dress-up competition was held, and afterwards, revellers partied into the evening.
All proceeds from the event go to the social welfare and development organisations under the CC’s umbrella (there are over 200 in the Western Cape). As the oldest charitable body in the Cape, the CC aims to advance, empower and care for vulnerable communities.
